Over the past two years you have looked after my children, as and when needed. You cared for Garry, aged 4, at playschool as well as in my home. When I was pregnant with Jack, you took Gary on playschool trips as I was unable to do it. When I gave birth to Jack, now aged one, you came not only to help me, but to get to know the baby.
Jack has known you since he as seven-days-old. When I was at my wits end with his colic, you were able to help. You have coped with the numerous feeds and nappy changes and have taken an interest in learning more about children with Dairy Intolerance and Eczema. You are always very careful in making sure you provide my children with the best care possible in our absence.
Not only are you a friend to us but the children love you. If they fall and hurt themselves, you're there to pick them up and hug them. When Garry went into hospital, you came with us to care for Jack and provide moral support. In my eyes Nick, you're a godsend. We don't see you as just the nanny, you have become part of our family. I have asked you to move with us, but I know you can't.
You may have all the qualifications in the world but what makes a good nanny is the love, understanding and patience you show to my children, that most mums haven't got. You've helped at Mother & Toddler, despite the inital reactions of some mothers, but I know I can trust you with my two very precious children. Just because you're a man, doesn't mean anything. You can do the job in hand without any problems.
I know we will miss you very much.
I know the children will too.
Please come and see us soom.
