For the past few years, some of the children for whom I babysit have additional educational and physical needs.
I have worked with children who are on the Autistic Spectrum and I seem to relate well with some children with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome.
It is vital that I meet children prior to providing childcare, so that your children can decide themselves (even if they are non-verbal) if they like and trust me.
Please contact me to discuss any additional needs your children may have and to arrange a meeting.
A testimonial from a parent with an autistic child.
"Nick came to the house and met all three of my children. Within minutes my autistic 4 year old had really taken to him (very unusual for him!) and it became obvious that Iain was happy to be with Nick, so I had no qualms about changing my original plan which was for messy play in the house to outings with Nick (they regularly go swimming, on steam trains and for long walks in woods especially when muddy). We had a family outing to Legoland and Nick came with us to give Iain one-to-one and he is even coming on holiday with us to CenterParcs this Summer! My only reservation in recommending him to everyone is that he will get so many bookings that he won't have much time for us." - Nikki Smith
And another testimonial from a parent of twins
I have twin 3 year old boys, one of whom is autistic and has a congenital defect relating to his bladder. Neither boy had (when we first met Nick) been looked after by anyone other than their Great Grandmother or half sisters. I was a little worried as to how they would react and respond to him; but before Nick could take his shoes off he had been presented with half of the toy box! I had nothing more to worry about! Nick is always punctual, polite and the children love him. Praising Nick too highly will mean that his schedule will be even more difficult to slot into - but he deserves that! Good childminding, babysitting, call it what you will is very hard to find, and Nick is by far the best." - Mrs O'Neill
